Covid-19 will become a factor in the transformation of business and IT sector

Medical workers, politicians and employers unanimously ordered all people to do one thing - to stay at home. They repeat to us over and over again: do not travel, do not appear in crowded places, do not go to hospitals without good reason (unless there are clearly expressed symptoms of the disease) and try not to leave the house. These instructions are contrary to the principles of self-organization of resources depending on the needs arising in them (flow principles), since forced immobility and isolation are more likely associated with the principles of closure (silo principles), which is typical for prisoners who are deprived of the right to move freely. But still, a pandemic is something other than forced isolation.

The role of technology in a post-pandemic environment

2020 will be the year that will change the vector of development of e-commerce, telemedicine and the scheme of remote work. We will witness the emergence of large-scale pilot projects and the accelerated implementation of autonomous delivery vehicles, digital payments, contactless payment technology, voice and video conferencing, mobile business applications with voice support, AI-based CRM platforms, sensors and wearable devices for monitoring health , reinforced by the technology of the Internet of things, which will be aimed at automation, the possibility of autonomous maintenance, delivery of intelligent unmanned vehicles ikamentov, food, home products, as well as accelerate the development of additive technology (3D-printing).

So what lessons did the coronavirus teach humanity? From the point of view of tactics, it should be understood that a reaction to a specific type of crisis can be the exact opposite of generally accepted norms of behavior, that is, democratic, divided and “home-based”. Flow principles are much more flexible than traditional solutions. In fact, they can be used to develop holistic solutions that can be useful in the event of new crisis situations. One of these could be a fleet of unmanned vehicles, which would deliver goods around the clock, eliminating the need to queue in grocery stores where people have to make contact with each other.

It is possible that the development of new technologies will lead to the emergence of automated solutions for the distribution of rapid tests and vaccinations - this will provide an unprecedented high level of autonomy, as well as allow you to independently diagnose and even be treated, turning to telemedicine and II.IoT for help and, in particular The advent of distributed additive manufacturing (3D printers and other intelligent connected machines) can further increase pressure on the model of centralized, scalable manufacturing and allow small rural or remote communities to create and exploit the goods they need. The revival of rural areas is discordant with the continuous growth of urban populations throughout the world, but at the same time it is closely linked to new technologies.
