Domain Name System, or DNS, is a special system that ensures that domains correspond to their numeric addresses. On the Internet there is a special class of servers - ns-servers, which are responsible for storing DNS. There you can check the domain DNS records. They are supported from two sides - from the side of Internet providers and hosters, as well as from the side of domain zone administrators. Server data has its own hierarchy.

Dates for updating DNS records

Domain DNS records on servers are far from being updated immediately. Depending on how DNS works, the update time can be from three hours to three days.

Types of DNS Records

For successful operation, you may need to specify several entries.

The NS record indicates the DNS server that serves the domain. These services are offered by the hosting provider or domain registrar.

Entry A is required to indicate your IP address. This address can be specified by the hosting provider.

The AAAA record must be used to indicate the IP address of version 6. Ubiquitous support is not yet widespread.

An MX record needs to be added to indicate your mail server. It will be needed in order for mail to reach domain mailboxes.

A CNAME record is needed to use one domain as an address for a completely different domain, that is, it creates a subdomain.

A PTR record is needed in cases where you need to get a fully qualified domain name. This record is set by hosting providers by default, but still you need to check the correctness of the record using a special service.
