Modern trend in technical support in data centers
The difficulties caused by the Covid-19 pandemic remain. 2020 will be the year of dramatic turns and re-evaluations in service and technical support for businesses and customers. Nevertheless, despite the numerous changes that have occurred this year, the pandemic has not so much rewritten as changed many of the transformation processes and trends that have already begun.
1. Work is not only work from home, but also work anywhere and anytime. Many employees do not visit the office and continue to work from home. Many do not work during the established business hours, but when it is convenient for them. Flexible working hours mean they don't just need remote technical support, but 24 × 7 availability. Self-service is becoming increasingly important. Now, it's not a nice addition, but a must-have feature to meet employee needs without compromising productivity. Of course, self-service will offer tremendous benefits beyond COVID-19 in terms of cost efficiency and employee productivity.
2. Technology is rapidly spreading throughout the enterprise. New technologies for service and technical support were pioneered in IT departments. However, the urgent need to transform companies to improve productivity and efficiency does not allow us to limit ourselves to such divisions. The need for service management is felt by specialists not only in IT, but also in HR, employee compensation, office managers, etc.
3. Easy access to knowledge is recognized as an urgent need. As companies strive to improve productivity and service quality, they recognize the critical importance of automating and optimizing access to knowledge. Service teams need to effectively share knowledge to quickly and successfully resolve issues, process tickets, and deliver services. They understand that all the knowledge they have accumulated and stored is valuable only if it is available and can be used.
4. The importance of innovation for company differentiation and disruptive change is growing. The use of AI and machine learning is not only meeting immediate business needs, but also becoming an integral part of corporate digital transformation strategies. Using technology that learns and self-optimizes will make companies more efficient and get ahead of the competition. The role of AI in improving the productivity of the workforce and service departments will increase in organizations of all sizes.
