The former monitoring tools are significantly different from modern ones, using cloud computing, analytics, and mobile applications. By analogy with the popular term "digital transformation" we will refer to monitoring of a new generation by digital monitoring. The main difference between digital monitoring and the usual one is a constant connection to a computer via a dedicated channel or via the Internet and use from machine learning to the IoT.
