Obstacles encountered in the blockchain implementation strategy

Although blockchain technology is still perceived in the corporate environment as something far removed from the realities of enterprises, the world does not stand still. And blockchain is increasingly being used to solve various problems, and with the introduction of this technology many problems arise.

They say that it is impossible to make it faster and better and cheaper, but you will not go far in implementing blockchain in the enterprise if you are satisfied with only two of these qualities.

What are the main obstacles to the implementation of blockchain technology. When choosing the appropriate solution, you need to give answers, at least, to the following questions.

• Does the “solution” comply with industry benchmark architecture standards? Without this, it will not be able to integrate into industrial systems for public and private blockchain transaction processing. Unfortunately, but without intermediaries, greedy for profit, it is still impossible to do. All the infrastructure, processes and systems that make the world go round (and handle it well), if they are discarded and replaced by something integral, it will not happen tomorrow.

• Does the “solution” fit into the reference architecture of the OSI model? Since the blockchain is sometimes called Web 3.0, Internet of Value, or any other jargon of sales and marketing, the solution must comply with the most modern industry standard, which is closest to the standards of networks, the Internet and web services formulated in OSI. Yes, technology, like standards, must evolve to meet new use cases for mass consumption.

• How is it easier to fit your blockchain “solution” into the Enterprise Technology Framework? This enterprise technology environment defines the technology services and features (IT capabilities) needed to support business applications and data. These include common (or shared) application services, common system and data services, network services, security services, platform services, and administration tools that provide IT services. It may also be useful to determine the specifics of a business or a new business service that may be required. Or, in the case of a hybrid cloud model, which system or service should be based in the corporate data center (for example, the source data system - System of Record), and which can be offered in the public cloud SaaS model or made available through the involvement system (System of Engagement) via smartphone or other mobile device.
